Where was this document distributed? I'd be interested in seeing it.
Well, to be truthful about it, I don't mind *responsible* rumors columns. For example, a rumor column that might let it slip that XYZ product is coming out from ABC company. However, some of the things I've seen recently are either totally irresponisble and very inaccurate, or just trying to…
Why don't you just buy the Videoscape format object disks? Interchange comes with a videoscape and sculpt-3d conversion modules. At $49.95 (and cheaper if you mail order it), how is that a "very costly"? It's quite a bargain if you own several 3D programs and you want to mix and…

Some time ago, a well know developer was showing off a version of Deluxe Paint III in LA to a small group of people. It had quite a few new features, including the ability to create ANIM files. As far as I know though, nothing official has been announced about…

I'm totally AMAZED that Byte would allow something like that. Well, I doubt the "old" Byte would have. Now that FTL has come out with Dungeon Master for the Amiga, I'm sure that we'll be seeing good press about the Amiga in his column….but not because of the Amiga itself,…
How are you using it? Are you using the pre-made fonts, or are you making your own?
Alright, alright……It means "One who throws pies at software developers who eat cheese". 🙂 No, really, it's Polish for Peterson. Now, we know that "syndesis" means "the action of binding together"…but how many people out there know that syndesis spelled sideways is "John Foust"? Betty, did you know that John…

Stan, Could you please explain or upload a description of how to set up custom textures for Turbo Silver? Steve
"…the issue that should arrive any day now…" Are you refering to Transactor? Or did I miss something? Steve
I use MANX and the MANX SDB source level debugger, and I like them. I'm getting close to buying the Lattice compiler though….It really looks like John Toebes and others at Lattice have done a heck of a job on the new version (5.0). I saw them showing it off…

Chaos Manor Repents!
Message #23562
I cancelled my subscription to Byte a while ago, right after I read JP's column where he kept going on and on about the ST and his son just *happened* to be a software developer for the ST. I was keeping up with the "discussion" about the codewheel on USEnet,…

MSDEMO PROBLEMS
Message #6863
I'm having the same problem. I suspect that I'll have to disconnect my second drive and try it again (like the docs suggested), but I haven't gotten around to it yet. You might want to try that. Steve
Just a clarification: InterFont doesn't allow you to read in IFF and convert it to 3D objects. It's a package that helps you design 3D fonts, as well as create 3D text incredibly easily.
I would hope it was faster….it's more expensive! All in all, a very very impressive demo!

Hehe…..No reflective balls on checkerboards. 🙂 This animation I'm doing is quite simple, but it looks pretty good. Look for it in the next couple of days. I've got a couple of still frames that'll I'll upload too. Hey! I just got that HOTDOG picture you uploaded. I really like…
Remember, this is just opinion…. At the time I had Animate-3D (I returned it to Byte by Byte), I found that I couldn't use #@effectively with my system. I was trying to use it on a 1 MEG 2000 with 2 disk drives. I think that if I tried it…
I'd recommend Turbo Silver 3.0. It's *really* fast, and you can get excellent results with it. You can set just about everything you want with the program. You can do glass objects, reflective surfaces, water, etc. Take a look at some of the Turbo Silver pics in the library. I…
I think we'll be finding out soon…
I think that Steve's message somes it up. When people have postings addressed to them, they have the option to delete them. From what I saw all the clarifications about ACO that I posted were deleted. So, in fact, what I posted stayed around for just long enough to be…

One of the things we're working on in the next release of ACO is the ability to handle larger groups of people, (read: 20 or greater), and still retain the graphics abilities of ACO (plus some new things here and there). Things like back scrolling in windows to see if…

I realize that. I wrote it. Oh, you mean Steve Ahlstrom….whoops

ACO is not in limited distribution…it's been released for several weeks.

Rick, No offense taken! ACO, in it's current form, is by no means the "best" conference program….like you said, it's a personal thing. We just tried to design a program that would work well with a lot of people in conference. I'd be interested to see this "better" approach. I…

When ACO was being designed, we thought about a lot of different alternatives for interfaces, and the faces around the conference table won. About the only other alternative we thought of at that time was to put everyone's text in a seperate window. We quickly shot that idea down because…

25-Oct-89 18:22:03 Rob Peck's book is called "The AmigaDOS Companion". By the way, I heard that Rob's house was 90% damaged in the earthquake. I hope he's OK.
