Rich, I envy your A3000/1950. I have read of your problems/concerns about WordPerfect. I don't know the specifics of your word processor needs but you might like to know that "excellence!" has been GREATLY improved. The speed is very fast even for a custom screen. I've heard reports on the…
Joe, I have a VCR with a digital freeze and never use it with DigiView and a signal splitter. Normal TV is a kaleidoscope of shifting colors and when a single frame from broadcast television is frozen you get a grainy picture. A ->GOOD

AmigaVision!
Message #36227
It might've been nice if AmigaVision could've used player or viewer programs (like "v") so that SHAM and Dynamic HiRes pictures can be used or DMCS files played. Hmm. Maybe AmigaVision II.
I tend to agree with you. The dictionary is also very portable. (Well, maybe not the Oxford English Dictionary but you know what I mean.) I can keep a dictionary with me at all times but it's tough to keep a computer handy. (However, I DO own an Atari Portfolio.…
You've got the wrong guy if you think I'm going to jump down your throat for saying things like magazines and address books are not obsolete! I feel VERY firmly that computers are a hobby for many of us and not necessarily a better way of doing everything. I think…
I understand about why you are mum about the project and thank you for what little you leaked. Any idea when you will make an announcement? Is this an active project or something on the back burner? It would be great to have an A2000 that would be coveted by…
You've read my mind. I hope everything eventually is compatible with 3.0 or know the reason why. I do think you are a little more optomistic than I am regarding post-release revision. I tend to think there won't be many changes unless there are some BIG bugs. (Just an empression.)
Amiga Vision is a "multi-media" presentation program something like "The Director" but with a nice interface.

Rejuvenator Runs Greats
Message #111954
Any idea what you would put in an A2000 Rejuvenator?
The T.S. info is good news. One of my favorite utilities is Diskmaster and it would not run under the version of 2.0 one of my dealers was using. Also Online! acted oddly and WordPerfect was useless.
Thanks. I was wondering if I should put aside my penneys for ADOS 2.0. I may not want it if it won't run some of my favorite software.
Is this the "finished" version of 2.0 or do you think there will be an upgrade in September? Is there any software that won't run under 2.0?

Amiga Commercials again
Message #110138
I like your commercial idea VERY MUCH (for what it's worth)!!! I'm sure it would take quite a while to assemble such a commercial but it would be impressive especially if it can be said to be developed on a stock (plus genlock) computer!
The loss is ours. PaperClip (I only know about the Atari version) was an outstanding program! It had many features that did not even exist on the early Amiga and ST word processors! ToC, indexing, macros; you guys did a great job! If only the screen were 80 columns. If…
Good! I'm glad someone else is in the dark about all this!
This IS what I want to know. Thank you! I noticed you mentioned computer and audio applications but not video. I assume the LaserVision disks are the same technology, right? I would like to see a CD player that can do it all; LaserVision, CD's, and computer data (for the…
er… I don't remember the full message. Yes, I know that all info on a compact disk is digital. What did I screw up in my message? (Still waiting for Amiga PaperClip.) (Yeah, I know. I'll be waiting a loooooong time. )
I'm glad you DID bring it up! Digital info on compact disks is very new to me (and, perhaps, many others on this forum.) One thing I would like to know (maybe you can help) is whether CDTV will work with/play LaserVision disks. From the article in Amiga World it…
By the way, how long did it take for you to get your upgrade from the time you ordered it. Did you order over the phone or send in a check?
Thanks for the little review. It sounds like the upgrade is well worth the price. You tested the part I was most concerned about. Going to page 30 of a fifty four page document and the program was able to keep up. I was sure it would be fast on…
Thanks for the info. I'm not sure I know what CD+G disks are. Are they the disks that look like normal CD's and play like normal CD's but have about 5 minutes of graphics information on them? Will CDTV be able to handle only normal CD (album/vinyl killer) size or…
Thanks a lot. As I said, I tried to phone them (non-toll free) three times and all I got was their answering machine. I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks for the info. It sounds like they got it right this time. If they have, they could be a much more serious…
These things happen. No problem. Will there be an announcement to tell us when the problems are cleared up? Thanks.
#CDTV explain please!
Message #108162
Parton the ignorance, but, I'd like to know if CDTV that everyone is talking about is the same thing as the "Baby" hardware mentioned in the latest Amiga World. Could someone give me a Reader's Digest explaintion of what Commodore has said officially about this product and what it will…
#Picture Forum

Is there a forum where there are computer scanned pictures? How do I get there (GO ?????) and are they only GIF files or are there Amiga pictures?
#MSS
Message #108066
What's up with MSS? I got an empty envelope from them the other day and when I call them all I get is their recorded message. Even their BBS is off line. I saw an ad for a new version of excellence! in Amiga World last month boasting of a…
Thanks for the advise. I know about Amiga's flicker problem and you're right, I never printed the picture. I'll give it a try. Thanks.
#Digi-View HELP!
Message #33848
I'm having a problem with Digi-View 4.0. If I digitize anything with a horizontal resolution of 400 lines (interlace) the picture vibrates as if it is stuck between two pictures. I am digitizing off my VCR with a very solid freeze frame using a color splitter. I have an A2000…
Digi 3 (2mo. & waiting)
Message #20024
I called NewTek today and asked when I could expect my DigiPaint 3. They said 4 to 6 weeks. Thanks, NewTek. I've already waited a couple months. I know some folks have gotten their copy. Will it arrive Via US Mail? UPS? Turtle?
I was wondering myself, Betty. Any idea where the battery is in an A2000? I didn't see anything about it in the docs.
Steve, I talked to Electronic Arts 2 days ago and they said a new version was NOT out (for DPrintII). They said they might be making an upgrade but they haven't even started yet! They took my name and address and that was it.

The problem is that I have already paid for Digi-Paint 3. What is the price of Photon Paint 2.0 if I call this number?

Digi-Paint 3
Message #18077
I was under the same impression! I thought Digi-Paint 3 was ready to ship. unfortunately, I sent them a money order.
Thanks for the info. I'll look for it.
That is INTERESTING. That means I could use the printers built in double wide font. Thanks for the info. I'll have to check that out.
I did manage to load a HAM picture. It was black and white but in HAM format. The other thing that bugs me about "e!" is the spell checker. The recommendations are almost never of use. On the same token, KindWords dictionary has been able to correct my spelling errors…
e! HD install response!
Message #49367
A while ago I complained in this forum about the hard drive install program in "excellence!" and how MSS was not too receptive to constructive criticism based on a phone conversation I once had with the company. The other day I received an upgraded hard drive install program from MSS…

Mail order recomendation
Message #41973
Thanks for your story. Sometimes orders get screwed up at Christmas. I have placed an order with them because they had the best price for an A2000 and seemed to know what they were talking about. I'll cross my fingers.

Mail order recomendation
Message #41972
Thanks, Betty. I put in my order and got my 8-up board a day earlier than they promised. So far so good. I'll test the board tomorrow.

I am kinda new to 3D drawing. Could you tell me The difference between Turbo Silver and VideoScape 3D, Forms in Flight, Sculpt 3D, etc. What will be different with Silver 3.0?
I have some music experience too. I wish some parts of DMCS was more natural but I'm sure I get the hang of it with more use.

I was dlding on a blank disk. I'll try it again soon.

When I download the file with Diga! toward the end of the file I get a flash and the program just kind of dies. This happens at the end of the file (sure, it couldn't happen at the beginning) twice and has never happened before. Sorry about the message characters.…
