Richard, It's even simpler than that: the River/Lake confirmation dialogue box can be moved simply clicking any where else on the screen once it appears. The box will move to the new location letting you know that that it must be answered. John.
John, Wow, Activa's as bad as those guys from VRLI! But seriously, I haven't forgotten about you, it's just a matter of being too busy and not wanting to tackle such a tedious task…. John.
Jim, I'm afraid we'll have to call your idea a "past enhancement". VP3 on the amiga shows the field of view on the topo map when the Lens SubPanel is displayed. The field of view is only accurate when the the Camera's Pitch and Bank are near 0. For instance,…
Bob, I'm glad you got VMORPH working; and thanks for letting me know what worked. Now we know what to tell the next person. John.
Steve, Although you have EMM386 set up, it sounds like you may not have enough memory allocated to it. I don't know how much VMORPH actually needs but I just tried limiting it to 256K and it showed the same symptoms you described. You can use the MEM command from…
Richard, For "startup" purposes you can load a session file from the startup script to set functions like Enable8bit etc. Do the following: 1) Start Vistapro 2) Set things the way you want them 3) Save the session file 4) Exit Vistapro 5) add LoadDEM filename to your startup.scr file…
Reid, Clint failed to mention that if you set the DEM size to Large or Huge and then load an individual DEM (Load DEM not Load Region) then you can manually place the file in any of the quadrants. John.
Jeff, To get the "rear window" view you need to rotate the Heading 180 degress, and negate the Pitch and Heading. For instance if the forward camera is pitched up by ten degrees the rearward camera is pitched down by ten degress. The same goes for the Bank. Remember the…
David, VP3 on the PC and originally on the Amiga used the left mouse button for the menus. ALL of the beta testers complained so Clint switched the Amiga version to using the right mouse button! John.
Ellison, In COMART you can get a program called BFLIC which will convert a series of PCX files into an FLI animation. It's in one of the DL's and also comes with a player too. It works perfectly with VistaPro's PCX output files. John.
Dave, You need to have the 11 point TOPAZ font in your fonts: directory. This should have come with your Workbench…. John.
If you want to contact me directly, try (415) 865-9717 in the afternoons or evenings. The number you called was (I guess) the number of Finally Technologies? They are distributing the Hurricane for our company, Ronin Research and Development. John.
Kludge card.
Message #98110
Dave, Thanks for the information. The reason I made the card was so that I could plug a hurricane card into a 2000. The Hurricane emulates a 68000 at the 68000 socket, including generating the E clock (the reason the 68000 has to be removed when using the Kludge card.…
Winston, I'm not familiar with the Micron Technologies product and have no knowledge of anyone who has used it with the Hurricane card. The memory card is not yet available but should be "real soon now". John.
The Insider works fine with the Hurricane card. With the standard configuration (long extension pins to get to the 68000 socket) you wont be able to close the case. We can provide a board with shorter pins which will allow you to close the case but not replace the RF…
#2000 changes
Message #97272
Dave, I have heard that Commodore may be changing the 2000's mother board because of some problems with the 68020 card. Can you divulge what these changes may be? The three things I need to know are: 7M still on pin 7 BOSS still on pin 20 physical location still…
#68020 boards
Message #97252
Winston, There are some problems with the Escort 2 and the Hurricane card. It looks like the peak power demand by the memories and controller are too high for the Amiga's power supply to handle when the hurricane board is installed. The Hurricane requires about 1 amp. The other memory…
If you are looking for an internal 68020/68881 card for the A1000 you may want to check out Ronin's board. You can get it without processors for $500.00. The 68020 (when you install it) is clocked at 14MHz. It has a connector for our memory board which will also run…

Marble Madness
Message #29301
I have found that Marble Madness uses almost all the memory on a 512K machine. By running a cli out the serial port, and running Avail from the remote cli, you can see that there is little memory left. Also if you run a few 'memory resident' process before starting…
