Ben, I was able to set up my Everex 20D without too much problem after I talked to the dealer. He has a 20D hooked up to his 1000, so was familiar with it. Just for your own information in case someone else needs some help, for low level formatting…

Hi Ben! I just purchased a C-Ltd SCSI controller for my 500 along with a Everex 20D hard disk today. After putting my poor printer through the torture of printing out the Technical reference manual, I find that it is going to be a real chore in setting up my…

Al, I would suggest getting what I consider one of best books available on AmigaBasic. Its called "Advanced Amiga Basic" and it is put out by Compute! Publications. It has all kinds of examples on using the library calls, including accessing disk fonts. John Gager

#Animation Standard?
Message #116015
I didn't take your messages the wrong way at all Greg, even if they were a little long winded 🙂 After capturing, printing, and reading your messages, I think I went a little too far on my frustration. I will agree that a standard for scripts is not too practical,…
#Animation Standard?
Message #115472
Well I felt it was time to get on my soapbox and complain about the lack of 3D rendering and Animation standards for the Amiga. The only 3D rendering program that I have at this time is Sculpt 3D, and I've been wanting to get a Animation program, but don't…

Glad to let people know when it can help them in some way. Now the real question is when Justin McCormick is going to fix PixMate? I will be interested to see what your TV*SHOW software is like, just as soon as I can get down to the local software…

PixMate Bug Report
Message #110131
Just wanted to let you know that if you are using PixMate to re-format pictures for The Director, when Director reads in your picture for display, there is a good chance you will be greeted with a Guru. According to Keith Doyle, PixMate sets a flag in the picture IFF…
Aegis Diga!
Message #102999
Of course these are my opinions, and you make think otherwise, but so far my experience with Diga! leaves me with the feeling its a real dog. I can't believe that a company like Aegis, with a good reputation, would distribute such a bug ridden program. I can't complain too…

ON TIMER GOSUB
Message #90816
Gary: Thanks for the tips on the ON TIMER command, but I came up with the answer. If you are using a program that has menu's, like mine, you have to issue the command MENU OFF before you set the timer. For example: MENU OFF ON TIMER(60) GOSUB routine TIMER…

Don, I was wondering why there is a full name requirement on this forum? Although I don't mind using my full name, I see nothing wrong with using a nickname, firstname, ficticious name, or whatever. A name is not important, only the person. John Gager
Ben, I would be very pleased to have your PD Ham software. I've gone over to Hamnet a few times to see if anything has been uploaded yet for the Amiga, and nothing. I'm currently in the process of writing a logging program, but it will be awhile yet before…
I was afraid of that Don. Most of the time it works OK, so if I decide to take the chance, I just keep my fingers crossed! Do you know whether or not CompuServe is working on a version of Vidtex for the Amiga? Sure hope so! John Gager
#Ahost
Message #83947
I've been trying to use the program Ahost to download programs from Compuserve, and most the time I'm successful, but….If it receives just 1 NAKed packet the program will CRASH. There goes 20 minutes of wasted on-line time, and long distance charges since I live out in the boonies. Anyone…
I will go ahead and download the cataloger thats in one of the Sig's here and take a chance to see if it works. I didn't get much response from the message I left, so I guess sometimes if you want some info, you have to find out for yourself!…
