Don, I was wondering why there is a full name requirement on this forum?
Although I don't mind using my full name, I see nothing wrong with using a
nickname, firstname, ficticious name, or whatever. A name is not important,
only the person.

A couple of reasons. The first is that names are easier to remember
than id numbers. Since some nicknames are popular, we may end up with several
menbers using the same nickname, but having different ppn's. That can easily
lead to confusion. Same with using first name only.
We also feel that names are more "friendly" as you know who you are
talking to.
