#8405 AShade2 to Ani Pro Message #8416
Thanks for the tip on the AAPRO manual. I'll look it up. Next time, I will be speaking with Gary as the sidekick… (hee-hee)
#8318 #AShade2 to Ani Pro Message #8390
Glad to see someone appreciated it! Everyone thought that AutoDesk sponsored that bash when actually, although they pitched in, Gary and I footed most of the bill. Anyone who was still around at 1:00 saw the Mirage guy chasing me around trying to get a credit card… I am speaking…

Kevin, Do you happen to know the set variable for setting a targa 16 into overscan mode for 3DS? Ours seems to have been set back into not-overscan and I can't find a manual anywhere. It is an old TARGA 16 (about 4 years old!)
Gary, I've seen it! Its pretty neat. It is very well done. You'll enjoy it.
#Suggestions Message #7938
I have been kinda successful with light beams by making a conical mesh, then assigning a moving random dot opacity map to it. It looks like a smoky room with dust particles in the light. I haven't perfected it, but my tests proved the idea worked. I believe there is…

#7637 MTV animation Message #7685
There are many programs on mTV that are'nt music videos. I have not been involved though. My movies, to date, are: Another 48 Hours – Paramount Singles – Warner Memoirs of the Invisible Man – Warner Sneakers – Universal (currently in production) We have also done several commercials, like the…

Ted, you might post this message over in the Animation forum (COMART, SEC 17) as well. There are many non-animator folks there as well as folks from other platforms like Amiga and MAC.

Well, my quote of 'unuseable' is really in regards to non-Windows Animator pro or a MAC. Eventually, we will get there. For example, Micrographx has a Windows graphics library they sell which is MUCH faster than Microsoft's. It appears to me that the Animator WIndows stuff was written with the…

Actually, be glad you're NOT working with a fortune 500 company. They are much harder to deal with than the little guys… Trust me, I know!

Ditto! PCKWIK has been the most reliable cache software for GRAFX for a few years now on all kinds of machines… No compatibility problems whatsoever.

Sherwood, you might also check COlossal Graphics in San Jose or Master Blueprint in Minneapolis I believe. I have had several of Brett's (our fine artist) images printed via Versatec electrostatic plotter and they are quite nice, but the colors aren't as rich as a photo would be naturally. I…

Hugh, First, go out and spend $70,000 for a Personal Iris and Alias Power Animator. Spend several months getting up to speed and then spend another $150,000 on hardware and software upgrades to make it really useable. Then, spend about $15,000 in video equipment so you have some sort of…

Stephen, perhaps I can help here… Yesterday, I took a new version of the bouncing ASTlogo that can be found somewhere in this forum and moved it into the Windows player. I then digitized the BOUNCE sound on my Media Vision Pro Audio Spectrum into the Windows WAV format with…

Mine is a 4 MB ANI PRO animation done by GRAFX artist Andrea Tarman. I could upload it, but how many users would download a 2.5 MB (zipped) file? I found that I coundn't E-mail it to Gary so it is going out FEDEX today. It isn't the *best* thing…

I uploaded it to E-Mail. it is 2MB zipped. Start downloading when you go to bed…Oh yea, I forgot, you never go to bed…
#6398 #ANIPRO Bonus Disk Message #6412
I am sending you our Christmas card. Please let me know if perhaps ADESK wants to use it. They may, of course, as long as they credit us for the art and animation and especially Andrea Tarman, the artist.

Phil, I notice from the headers that you have sent me 3 messages in section 5, but I don't have that section in TAPCIS. I just read 2 and 9. ANyway, Gary told me specifics about the -NOVM switch and it has worked perfectly ever since! Thanks. No more hanging…

Well, it can't ne 2-D. You have to give it some small thickness. Just make a quad in the shaper, loft it a couple 'o ticks and then apply mapping coordinates..

Think for a moment about the insecurity of someone who goes on-line publicly, insults someone, calls them names and calls them insecure. Insecurity has nothing to do with it Phil. I just don't need you doing my promotion for me, that's all. If Glauberman and Rae need the extra press,…

Actually Lee, I suggest you call a different dealer. AutoDesk's policies are sound, but they must depend on their dealers. There are several that are active in this forum. Kevin Krell, for one, is always helpful and extremely knowledgable. I don't know what the problems with boundaries are for selling,…

What I did recently for smoke (exhaust) was based on a theory provided by Gary Yost. First, make 2 rough conical shapes that kinda look like the exhaust funnel. Then, morph them together with a swirly FLIC opacity map. I used GRASP to create 2 or 3 random maps of…
