Chris.. You could always try getting XPRQUICKB.LIBRARY or XPRBPLUS.LIBRARY, which works fine with Terminus, but i've never used TERM so i don't know if you can use external protocols.. You'll have to read the term doc's on how to set them up for use etc etc. Anthony
Peter.. thanks for the phone number, and the other data. Hopefully getting him an ID from customer services will be the hardest part.. Thanks again Anthony (tapping away with 2 fingers)

Help.. I've got a friend who is interested in joining Compuserve (with his Amiga) and at the moment, i cant find the UK's free phone service number, OR anywhere on CIS that mentions new members joining. I've found the new members help and such. Can someone here help me out…
Juan. You don't need a modulator for the 1084S monitor, you can connect it directly to any Amiga using the correct cable. CBM did make the 1084 in various models and different connectors, Analog RGB (Amiga), Digital RGBI (TTL(for CBM 128 and PC's)), SCART (all thing SCART including the amiga)…
HDToolBox… This is CBM's hard drive utility, it will Prep, partition, and even mark bad blocks out of service (even surviving a FORMAT). Make sure you set the correct device for your controller in the tool types. Once running, select VERIFY DATA ON DRIVE option, and it will report any…
firstly, i suggest that you take the knife of your modem, thus reducing, even eliminating the cutting off effect caused by the modem. You could always try shouting at it, or if the symptoms persist, slamming you fist down hard on it. 🙂 OR You could take the time and…

your forgiven! Anthony (AutoPilot Novice from Manchester, UK)
I was told by quite a few people that the jumper at the front had to be set to Scsi, for the A590 controller to work with scsi drives, some of them should have know better, since they were the ones selling (trying to) Scsi HDs. Anthony (AutoPilot Novice from…
Uwe, The scsi drive can not be anything larger then a 3.5" HH (half height) drive, and you'll need the correct cable (obviously). The Jumper at the front of the A590 controller PCB marked "XT-SCSI" is actually only used for the LED, which tells you when the drive is being…
"It IS dead, i've unscrewed to four screws holding the lid down. powered up the machine and watched the head reach half way to first cyclinder to read the boot block, stop, shudder and power down, the head then returned to the park position under magnetic force." Micheal, thanks for…
Yep! the A590 is powered by its own PSU, as is the HD8+ (GVP's), Although, I did have a better responce from the GVP Controller. It managed to keep the drive spinning long enough for Fastprep to tell me that the drive type wasn't what is should have been, then…

I thought about the possibility of a PARITY problem, but the only jumps which could be set on or off are the 3 scsi id jumps, the rest are soldered to the drives board. I've tried the drive terminated and Unterminated, even when it was the only drive available.. I've…
