Mark I have had an 486 Bridgeboard for about 4 months and havent had any read write errors. The only problem I had was getting the shared drive to work so I gave up and got a external drive. It is a cut down version of the 486 (486SLC) which is…

I'm going to an Amiga show this weekend and C= will be there and will try to confirm this board is a C= board. No I have it in a 2000. Allan – on AutoPilot from Surbiton,Surrey,England

I can only think it is Commodore(UK) producing the board over here. As C=(UK) donot want to speak to users I'm afraid I cannot ask them. Allan – on AutoPilot from Surbiton,Surrey,England

It looks it is a 386 board with a 486 instead but the 486 is original (the solder has not been touched) Allan – on AutoPilot from Surbiton,Surrey,England

There is no addendum to the manual. On label on box ;- Commodore 486SLC 25Mhz Bridgeboard I've checked the pcb around the 486 and it has not been replaced. As I work with pcb's all the time I can tell when something has been changed. Allan – on AutoPilot from…

Yes it definately a 486. The package came with a Texas Instruments 486SLC and 486DLC software installation disk. the code number on the box is EMU 3925. How would I recognise one of your upgrades? The label on the box looks likes a Commodore label. I purchased it from:- White…

On the box it has marked:- Commodore 486SLC 25 Mhz Bridgeboard Code EMU 3925 Board seems to be original. I forgot to say I am running it on a 2000 with no accelorator. My old 2088 bridgeboard ran without any problems. Allan – on AutoPilot from Surbiton,Surrey,England

I have just purchased a Commodore 486 bridgeboard and I am having difficulty setting up the floppy drives. If I use the lead to share df1: with the BB both drives light up and are not accessed by either the BB or Amiga. If I use the lead to use…

Sorry I have taken so long to reply but I have been busy for the last few days. I have been a member of ICPUG for about six years and I find your articles in the journal very interesting. As far as the A570 goes I have rang several retailers…

I rang a retailer today and they said their are expecting supplies of the A570 any day now. By the way do ICPUG translate your articles from american english to english english so we can understand them.
Thanks for the reply. I have now been given the phone number of AST on-line and have now got the correct settings. Allan from the UK – via Whap!

Yes I agree especially if they are phasing out the A500. I going to check this weekend about the availability of the A570. Allan from the UK – via Whap!

Denny, It is being advertised but wether it's available I'm not sure. I will check availability at the weekend. I will also check about the A670. Allan from the UK – via Whap!

Vic, No I am not sure if they are compatible but one supplier is advertising the A670 for the A600 and the A570 for the A500. As the A600 hasn't got an expansion port I don't know where it will plug in. Perhaps it's a case of a supplier second…

Jonathan, Yes it is the same drive as the CDTV. It just plugs in the expansion port on the A500. No pass through so if you've got a hard drive which uses the expansion port you can't have the two together. Allan from the UK – via Whap!

Betty, The prices I quoted come for a large retailer over here so I presume they are available. I've heard no news on the 2000/3000 front. There is a rumour over here that the A500 is no longer being produced now the A600 is available. Cheers Allan from the UK…

Betty, The price over here for a A570/A670 CD drive is #299 but is only compatible with the A500 and A600. Cheers Allan from the UK – via Whap!

Gayle, Thanks for all the information. I will see if I can contact AST for the docs and software. What are the jumpers above the output port. Cheers Allan from the UK – via Whap!

Steven Thanks for your offer of Docs, but I think it will be expensive to send to the UK. I have been given a contact number in the UK which I will try first. Cheers Allan from the UK – via Whap!
Marion The problem is I don't have any instructions for the board at all. If I plug it in I get LPT2: and an extra 128k of memory. My bridgeboard is set for D000 but I can't change it as I'm running 2.04. I will have to try experiment with…

Hi Paul, Just checked my A1500 bought last October. The motherboard is marked as Rev 6 as well. As far as I can see I have no resistor pack 901 either so as my computer is fairly new I would presume it is 6.2. I would ask at the Show.…

It sounds like you have got a dry joint on the tube heater line.Try resoldering round the tube base and the line output transformer .The previous fault you had was poor connection on the transformer- very common. Good luck Allan(TV Engineer in the UK)
