While shopping for a mail-order PC, Gateway told me that double-speed CD-ROM drives (NEC Multispin 84i, etc) are not presently any faster/better than standard units as current software/hardware cannot utilize higher speed transfer rates. Is this true? Were I to specify a NEC Multispin84i in a ZEOS 4DX2-66, is there…
