Does anyone else use Logical Connections (a printer/plotter sharing product until recently supported by Fifth Generation) with more than one ACAD station? I do, and wish to compare notes.

Thanks for your help earlier on my circle lockup problem. Here's a new question: I use a Logical Connection printer/plotter sharing device with my three stations. Each 80386 has all output (LPT1 included) redirected to COM2, which is set to 9600,e,7,1 and feeds the Logical Connection. The Calcomp plotter uses…

Thomas, I am an architect using Release 11c2. I have used Autoshade for several 3d rendering jobs, in which I dump multiple "walkthru" images to videotape. I just began using ARE(tm) by KETIV Technologies – This product uses a run-time Renderman engine, I understand. I may be able to help…

Thanks for your help and comments. I didn't realize the Ironwood FIX386, which I have, handled only the Errata21 problem. Errata17 is incredibly erratic :-), obviously — by following instructions for the software patch (I load the errata17.exp from my ACAD.ADS file) I seem to have solved my problems. Again,…

Kevin, what gives? you say to use lisp to xload and xunload errata17, but Peter Scheerin says not to…. Anyway, I guess my FIX386 from Ironwood must have solved the errata21 problem, and the errata17 just didn't kick in till recently (tho it beats me how I could have avoided…

David, I noted your response to Joey Williams re Release 10c10a lockups. Please note the following (which I posted to all). Has anyone experienced anything like the following? I recently began using Version 11c2 on early Acer1100 80386's. One machine has 6 meg, the other 2 meg. One has an…

Randy, Where are you located? I'd buy a used Acer 386/20 for a home machine at that price. What leasing company? We too were told that we would have to use a proprietary memory card to add RAM. I did this on one of our 2 machines, but only added…

(to those of us with B-step problems), We had major problems moving into Release 11 because of "B step" 80386 chips in our vintage (1987) Acer Model 1100 16mH machines. All software fixes/patches were for nought. Got no help from Acer for a long while – in part because the…

Kevin, I'm not using a software fix (errata17.exe)to the B-1 step problem. I used the Ironwood chip to fix my Intel chip. See following excerpt from my reply to message #30583: (…We had major problems moving into Release 11 because of "B step" 80386 chips in our vintage (1987) Acer…
