Too bad most people looking for a home computer don't have the kind of money to get an Amiga. Sure its great, but you NEED the extra RAM and drive to use it w/out going crazy! Some serious bucks…

The Amiga's price is coming down already. Where? You really think the Amiga is going to make that big of an impact on business. No way. If it does'nt make it in the home market – forget it.

I disagree about the ST's market and the Amiga's market being totally seperated. Not at all. Many people are choosing between the two. Where did you here about the new ST graphics chip? 256 colors out of 4096 is fine, but at what resolution? That kind of color selection thats…

I have spent LOTS of time with my ST and its fantastic. And I AM going to get an Amiga (I LUST after one!), but I am NOT going to spend that kind of money until Commodore's situation improves. (and JET comes out!) * Reply: 8740

I agree about the software. I have had my ST for two months and I don't really have any software (not that it isn't there). It's just that there's nothing that GOOD out yet. Now I'm in no hurry to get an Amiga for the same reason. Best to wait…

4 megs. isn't enough for you? By the way, have you been following Commodore's financial problems? I've been trying to keep abreast of them. It don't look too good right now. I guess the next 30-60 days should tell. I wasn't planning to get an Amiga before than anyway. (whew!)

I am (kind of) neutral on the subject of copy protection, but as I see it, copy protection only hurts the valid buyer and delays the product slightly from reaching the pirates. Many pirates are MORE 'vengeful', if you want to call it that, when a program is protected. They…

Couldn't you just clear the bit-plane(s) section to draw the lines, to then fill? (using double-buffering, of course, to avoid flicker) That would save a blockmove. Question: How much faster can the blitter clear memory (to 0) over the 68000?

I agree completely with your feelings about the advantages of multi-tasking. In fact, that feature alone is the main reason I want an Amiga! I can hardly wait….(meanwhile I'm pounding away on my ST…one thing at a time!) * Reply: 4389

How about the programs that use the GTIA in the old Ataris? There are a few of them, but not all Ataris have that chip. Enter command, N for next message or for menu : n

Kind of like old Atari's CTIA/GTIA. Of course it took a LOT longer for Atari to go to the GTIA! Enter command, N for next message or for menu : n
