Thanks very much for the good news! I look forward to the upgrade – Mike
Hi Bill! Yup, at this point I am *quite* familiar with SizeWindow()s async nature. My problem is/was that I was never seeing the message the manual says I should get when Intuition is done resizing. Dave has given me a routine to try (which I haven't had time for yet),…
Hi Dave! Yup, M2 is my language of choice. Ok, I understand what you're getting at, but I think my code would have worked. As far as I can tell, I'm not getting the SIZEWINDOW message at all. I do fall back into a Wait/GetMsg routine after the SizeWindow() call,…
#Help w/SizeWindow!!!
Message #56112
Hi! I'm having a bit of trouble with the Intuition SizeWindow() function. In the Intuition manual, it says that SizeWindow() will send your program a SIZEWINDOW IDCMP message when it is done resizing your window. Well…. I never see a SIZEWINDOW after calling SizeWindow()! Sure, my IDCMP flag is set…
Hi, Vic. So you mean RemoveMenu on GadgetDown, then AddMenu on GadgetUp? oog. Well, its an idea. At least I'm not just missing some standard method. Thanks… Mike

Intui Qs
Message #133503
Hi, Bob. Yup, just wished Intui would trap the event for the gadget, since its the 'immediately' active function. Ah, well, guess I'll change the menu key to Amiga-Z; I REALLY like Am-X for clearing strings. Maybe it'll be one of many tiny fixes in 1.3… Thanks, Mike

Thank you for the address. Cheers… Mike
Sorry to butt in, but could you post the subscription address for Transactor? I've heard a lot about it, but I've not seen any way of contacting them. Thanks… Mike

Thanks, Richie. It was mainly a question of style. I've been using INC(LONGCARD(c)) with great success — Mike
#Help with Benchmark
Message #105349
I've only now had a chance to play with Benchmark & I seem to be having a problem with pointers. The code below demonstrates: VAR a : ADDRESS; c : POINTER TO CHAR; .. INC(a); (* This is OK *) INC(c); (* Compiler doesn't like this *) INC(ADDRESS(c)) (* Is…
#Alegra Bus Problem Qs

Hello Joanne: I saw your message about a week ago about the Alegra fix. I recently installed an Insider with my 512k Alegra & the system crashes about every ten minut

#Good TV Exposure??
Message #76888
The good news: I saw Laurie Anderson playing with an Amiga on a program called "Alive from Off Center" on Maryland Public Television. The bad news: the Amy wasn't even turned on for the five seconds it was shown; it was merely a prop. The worst news: the "computer" prop's…

What sort of memory-resident programs do you run, if any, such as blitzfonts, popcli, rrd, conman, etc? I would really like to get this narrowed down. -Mike

What to do with a Guru
Message #69545
Nope, the only thing I have on the outside is the Alegra. Txed isn't the only initiator of crashes; Its also happened with the TDI Modula compiler and the DBW-Render ray tracer. I've been trying to keep a log, but as you say, this is going to be one LONG…

Yup, I noticed that little tidbit on the Boi-ngo CD. They do a lot of digitized music on the disc, but they give credit to a Prophet system. I wonder what they do with it? -Mike
Hate to tell you this, but the personal version has been discontinued. I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago. With the possible confusion of dropping the less expensive version, tho, they seems will to give flexible discounts on the developers version (eg: I got mine at a 25% student discount)…
