I agree with John. The #pragma once directive always struck me as superfluous. The #ifndef/#define/#endif trio _is_ a de-facto standard among most C programmers. BTW, I have also been hit by the size_t problem and just added the trio myself, but having it included would have been nice. Cheers, Rob

Joe, Well, one comment I'd like to make is the idea of "defered segment unloading". We use this to clean out the heap at a later time when it is safe to do so. We use a combination of your approach (checking to see if it's in the call chain)…

Well, it's not a Mac vs the world thing with regard to the tifflib stuff. More like a "UNIX is best and everything else is for wimps" kind of thing. tifflib has problems compliling on DOS as as well as the Mac. Hmmm, seems a bit harsh there…Sam Leffer is…

Bill, If you have Internet access you could get tifflib by Sam Leffer (sp?) or the PBMPlus libraries. I know the first has CCITT Group 3/4 code, the latter may have it as well. You can FTP tifflib at ftp.sgi.com. Can't remember the directory though. Cheers, Rob

Rich, ==> If you've looked at the PowerPC 601 chip's specs, you'll see that the Pentium is a much lower power chip, by far, than the 601 (i.e., 16 W for the Pentium versus 85 W for the 601)!
