Spira maintains the location of your files whether they are in the cache or on the disc, much like any hard disk caching software would. Don't think of the 25MB as a virtual image, but just as a buffer location to insure disc writing. Sounds like you have a production…

The great thing about Spira, is that you should use both. Pick your favorite index/retrieval product to index the data and then save to CD-R disc right from the application or use File Manager without ever running a separate premastering application. David
No, the sessions are as large as the amount of data you transfer before ejecting the disc. The cache causes track writes in 10MB or larger chunks which do not consume any real overhead. Therefore, you can transfer 650MB of data and only create one session while only using 25MB…

Definitely check out our product Spira, that gives you drive letter access to a CD-R drive from any Windows application. It is designed specifically for data storage needs. There's more information in the CD-Recordable library section or we can fax you the information. David Multer Moniker, Inc.

We support the Yamaha CDR-100, Sony CDU-920, and the Ricoh RS-1060. Support for the Philips CDD-2000 and the Pioneer DR-R504X coming soon. Not too much to explain, we make your CD-R drive look like just like a CD-ROM drive letter, but you can both read and write to it from…
You may also want to consider Spira from Moniker. It offers drive letter access from any application, just like MO or CDROM, but gives you read and write access to CD-ROM and CD-R discs. You can then use File Manager or your favorite backup application for your backups. Check out…

The drive can't wait "for a few spins" while recording for a variety of reasons, but there is hope. The problem can be solved entirely in software without exposing customers to these issues. My company makes a product called Spira that provides drive letter access to a CD-R drive from…
