Carl and Asha, Just to add to the list, DPaint 3,4,5 has a step by step tutorial on creating an anim brush of a rotating earth. The world map is included in the Art Disc. You will find it in the chapter on Animation Effects. Al Berman A.C.E.S. Amiga Computer…
Tim, So far you are the only confirmation of the "grey-underwear" effect but I'm sure we are not alone. Bt the way, as I noted, Alpha-Paint seems to render the whites in frame-stores pretty well. Ad-Pro renders just like T.Paint. I dont have any of the boards (Picasso, Opalvision, etc.)…
Chris, DCTV is an external hardware-software device with two cables. One goes to the parallel port and is needed only for digitizing (which you will not use very often since you have a toaster). The other cable offers a feed through plug to your monitor. The box has an RCA…
Asha, I purchased and installed an ABCD switcher today and couldn't remember where I heard the suggestion, your reply rings a bell. I believe it was your posting about a week ago. So far I haven't had the courage to switch from A to D with the power on even…
Dwayne, I have had other problems but don't recall the parallel port lock up. I'll check it out tomorrow. Did you read Dale's note about Amiga link and the use of the floppy drive for networking? Have you had any experience along those lines? Al Berman A.C.E.S. Amiga Computer Enthusiasts…
Thanks Dale, The "AmigaLink kit" and "other hardware solutions" sound quite inviting but are beyond my present level of networking sophistication and I sure would welcome further info on these options. I haven't caught any discussion of these items in Amiga magazines, CIS postings etc. Using floppy ports sounds great.…
Thanks Dwayne, you answered my question and then some. I'll have to look into ProNet. I don't really understand how it . I'll download ProNet and I presume there is a "read me" document that explains things. Thanks again, I'll keep posted on any progress I make. Al Berman A.C.E.S.…
#Parnet switching
Message #209890
I'm not sure what thread this belongs to, its concerned with Parnet which seems to be in widespread use and the recent discussion about the merits of whether to turn on/off the system each night. It is my understanding that the Parnet cable on the parallel port can not be…
Steve, Sounds to me like you are right on track. You are rendering your frames into anims OK and an insufficient number of frames surely would yield a jerky animation. By the way, I favor 256 colors over DCTV or Ham-8 for many of my anims. That is often an…
I'm glad you seem to be making some progress but its not clear where the source of the "jerky" anim is. Incidentally I checked my copy of rend 24 and it seemed to do a good job rendering a complete DCTV anim ready to be run as an anim on…
Steve, If I can help in any way, let me know. I have Rend 24 but have never used it because ADPro (and other programs) batch render so much more conveniently. If you are still stuck and you give me more specific details on where you are stuck and what…
Steve, Do your frames have a title with consecutive numbers (a sequence)? If so, Brilliance or DPaint has a spot in the load box to specify the number of DCTV frames, which will be loaded and you can play and save as an anim. I hope this helps, if not,…
