#Modem 2400 BPS Lynker's
Message #29465
I just replaced my 1200 bps modem with a new 2400 Lynker's modem. When I call compuserve or Plink, it refuses to connect in the 2400 bps mode and just locks up with a connect 1200. I am setting my terminal (Diga) properly, I believe. It connects to a local…

I have a LaserJet+ printer that works fine with everything as does my Panasonic Dot Matrix, however the HP LaserJet only prints one staff of music per page when printing from DeluxeMusic. I have called EA twice and have not had a reply that works. I have noticed when using…

Thanks Don, I guess the only way I'll know for sure is to take a chance and try it. Frank
Don, Thanks, I'm glad to know that. I've see 1.44 mg IBM type drives at local swap meets for $110.00. If I can get one of these to work with my bridgeboard, not only can I devote my external 1020 to the Amiga side, but I can bring work home…
Don, it looks as though it might, however I noticed that the Amiga drives have a conector for power and one for the control. I notice an IBM drive at a dealer which had only one place for conection?? Frank
Thanks for the info Don. I guess I'll just have to stick with the 1020 at 720K. I wonder if standard IBM drives can be used instead of the 2020 internal drive? It gets more and more confusing. Frank

Does anyone know a way to use a 1.4 mg 3 1/2 " drive with the bridgeboard. Since the controller is on a chip, can another controller be added in one of the slots? Thanks Frank.

Can another disk controller be added to the BB so that a 1.4 mg 3 1/2 flopy disk drive can be attached? Please leave mail in case I don't get back on in time to retrieve the reply. Thanks Frank

I'm trying to decide whether to take a chance and buy a 3.5" 1.44 mg disk drive for my 2000 (IBM side), but no one seems to know if it will work. I am now using a 720 k drive (1020) for that purpose but I want to free it…
#1000 pal chips bus
Message #108165
I have a friend who just bought Amiga Live for his 1000 and has it conected to his Starboard II memory expansion. It doesn't work properly and the symptoms remind me of when I had two devices conected to my old 1000's bus. I think I grounded certain pins on…

#KeyBoard fix 2000
Message #106278
Don, The problem is simi-solved. I remove the capasitors and the problem remained however this mornining I realized that the keyboard extension cable I am using must be adding extra capasitance. With the keyboard pluged directly into the machine, it works fine. Now I have to decide which is more…
Don Thanks for the info. No the 5 1/4 drive is 1.2 mg but the 3.5 drive on the newer machines are 1.44 mg. I have sucessfully used 3.5 disks from these machines on the bridgeboard in the 720k mode but I am thinking of adding a 1.44 drive internally…
BridgeBoard 1.44
Message #105281
Does anyone know if a 1.44 mg 3 1/2 " Flopy Drive will work with the existing controler on the bridgeboard. How about putting one inside the external Amig 3 1/2 " case and using that controller and power supply? Any possibilities or would a new controller be necessary? Thanks,…
Thanks Don. Unless the dealers recieve the fix and can do this this modification without keeping my machine a week, I'll wait until the waranty has almost expired and do it myself. Thanks everyone for all the fast replies. Frank.
Thank. Frank
#Amiga 2000 Keyboard Fix
Message #104826
I have rev 1.2 of the 2000 motherboard with the new keyboard, the one with the missing first key after a boot. I have called CBM and every repair shop I know of and no one has the fix yet. I was told by CBM that the information could be…

Does anyone know if you can mount a standard ibm type 3 1/2 disk drive in the second internal slot in the Amiga 2000? These can be bought for under $100.00 at computer swap meets. The controller is already built in so it looks good. Also could a 1.44 mg…
SideCar
Message #74387
For everyone who has a sidecar, please read this. It works perfectly on every program I have tried, including Turbo Pascal, and the DOS PRINT command, however you must set your programs and devices properly. Turbo Pascal must be set for color(80×25) using the TINST program that comes on the…
Thanks again Don. Frank
Thanks Don. I'll try it and let you know the results. I'll also call again later in case anything more is needed. Frank

Thanks for the thought Don but the 2.0 macro commands are more extensive than the 1A commands. I have called Commodore several time about the sidecar and the shipping date always seems to be two months from whenever I call. This has been going on since November of 86. Meanwhile,…
