#Good AV hard disk drive?

I think I've located an easy to install 2nd hard disk drive to write CD-Rs from. Anyone have any experience with the Maxor 7850AV drive? It's an 850 meg drive, IDE, and fast enough.
You can either purchase the special coated CD-Rs for writing, or try an art supply house for a can of spray sealer. It makes a nice, writeable, impervious coating.
If you are the handy man type- there is one brand of standard off the shelf color inkjet printer you can buy. It has a straight paper path. You take it apart and separate the paper transfer mechanism from the print head by about 1/4 inch. Then build a carrier…
