#194479 Win95/3ds4 Message #194517
I am running win95 too and I run 3ds only from dos after I "Shut down and restart in DOS mode" under shutdown menu and then have to create a batch file that goes like this: cd mouse mouse cd\3ds4 3ds cd\ Your PAR should have 2 parts in startup…
I believe the material we all long for is Stainless steel and even Softimage which runs on Silicon Graphics can't make one.

I think Softimage was used for the major parts. I saw a Softimage 3D demo tape and I too thought I saw some of thier ships. It's not uncommon for them to use more than one software package. Tommy.

Win 95 Perf Message #194512
OK I haven't been on the forum for quite a while and so I don't know quite what the response to windows 95 has been but I have seen a 500% speed increase with it when it pages to disk because of the increased disk speed. Just a comment.

#rendering times Message #157887
Alan, This has given me a lot of things to think about. I think I will go with a 4/66 with bookoos of RAM and get the P90 later and transplant the memory into the new board. I have a 30 pin mem socket now. (Geez, it just gets worse…
#reneding times Message #157704
Alan, Thanks for the in-depth explaination. I will take that into consideration next time. You mentioned that some ray tracing packages have even greater rendering times (or at least inferred it). One of my questions is isn't 3ds a Ray Tracer? I get the idea that it isn't because of…
render speeds. Message #157478
I have 3dsr4 and have noticed that rendering speeds are inconsistant in a way. This is the Pool.3ds file and I made the pool Cueball (object 16) a chrome with an automatic reflection on a wood table top. In the 3d editor I get a rendering time of 3.5 minutes…
