Maybe Jasmine, Bay Laurel, Watsonia, Rosemary? Depends how windy, just how little sun in winter, how little you intend to water, whether or not you're willing to change ph. What you're asking is kind of difficult: dry climate plants generally like sun, or the climate wouldn't be dry.

I think generally it's a good idea to avoid alternating trees in a line. The result will be more satisfying if you go all one way or the other.
