Rick Yes, both are local. I went to feedback, by the way, and got what looks like an electronic form letter for reply. I explained that I had the problem on only the one number, and they suggested checking my modem connections, my phone lines, etc. or having the phone company put a conditioner on the line. I wonder if they even read my message, or just stopped at the subject, thinking "ho-hum, another garbled text message." Anyway, thanks again. DonC
