I see your point but the issue is whether it is fair to call the Amiga a "game machine." When people on other platforms say this they are equating the Amiga to a toy or something like Nintendo. The implication is that you really aren't ready for a "real" computer yet; you're still playing games. I have heard this said with such smugness that you'd think there was NO game software for IBM or Mac. Personally, I think the people that say this really don't know much about computers or only know about their own system and nothing more. Besides, games software is probably the toughest software to write. Super Nintendo would probably make a pretty good computer if you slap a keyboard and disk drive to it <g>.
