Even Scientific American had a April Fools Mathematical Games column
a couple of years back in which they took the topological proof that
you can disassemble a sphere and reassemble it in a larger size to
its literal limit. I actually got a referral from a guy who took it
seriously – the letter was quite bizarre (guy claimed to have
invented a method he simply wanted me to do all the work on it for
free) and got referred to me by the author of the column. I got a
kick out of it, myself. The actual column took the idea of that
topological proof to literally say there was a way to take a
marble-sized sphere of gold and make it into one the size of a
baseball. And this guy who contacted me actually I think was a bit
mad. Deluded at least. Come on, guys. Can't take a joke? All this
stuff about Commodore's ineptness is getting tiresome. So many
'complaining letters' in the magazines, etc. I'm ready for all the
moaners and groaners to put a sock in it. Want the Amiga to go
somewhere? Create a great product for it! Like NewTek did just for
one well-known example. Commodore is owned by people who have the
freedom to do what they want with it. It is their company. Want
control over Commmodore? Buy it.
