I'm sorry, but this is just the way it is and you'll have to accept it for now. I understand your frustration with it not working the way you like, and with wanting more macros, but you don't know what direction PageStream development is headed in and I'm not allowed to tell you. Adding more macros at this point or hacking some way to access the ASL file requester from our macro language would be a waste of development time. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but it will not change right now. On a brighter note, the problem with MFR and Khalid file requester compatibility is fixed in-house and will be in our next maintenance upgrade. (And yes, it will be sometime soon.) For those interested, it was indeed the slash stuff. So please hang on and use the unsorted ASL requester for just a bit longer and then you can choose any requester you want.
