Randall, Digiview can be used for slow scan color digitizing with a black +
white camera and a color wheel attached to the camera. You can use a color
camera if you can get the output in RGB form. Usually the B+W camera and
color wheel will give you higher resolution. I don't know about Canon
Xapshot. DCTV has a high quality slow scan color digitizer that uses a
composite signal. It sells for around $400. There are also real time
digitizers (framegrabbers) like the toaster and the GVP ImpactVision 24
board. These are pricey alternatives but they also have other features
that make them worth the bucks. Definitely look at image processing
software like Imagemaster from Black Belt Systems for enhancing your
digitizing and total format conversion. Good Luck.
