Chris: There's a very good print of a photograph of Eadweard Muybridge in
the Dover Press edition of his classic HUMAN AND ANIMAL LOCOMOTION. The
three-volume set is a bit pricey ($150, I think) but you might fiind it in
a university library or an art department library.
It measures about 3.5 by 4.5 inches, in B & W, and is from his later years;
he looks like a Walt Whitman-type wild man in it. There's also a full-page
drawing of him. The intro, by Anita Ventura Mosley, is quite good. This
Dover edition contains all 781 plates from the original edition.
It's an interesting book. By the way, I think he pronounced his name
"mo-bridge". Hope this helps…Lee
