I currently have two hard-drives in my system. One is a Seagate 1096N 80meg and the other is a 157N 45meg. I'm having trouble with the 1096. Both drives are installed internally with the terminating resistors installed only on the 1096 which is last in the chain. The problem is that the 1096 corrupts the data when writing. If I copy a program to the drive and then try to run it I'll get a message saying that the file is not executable or if it runs it will crash the machine. If I save IFF files and display them the colors are scrambled or they crash the machine. The system reports no read/write errors at any time. I've tried the drives with two different controllers with the same results. Is this some bizzare termination problem or is this drive just going south? Also I noticed this problem before I istalled the 147N. Any comments?
