#DXF'g to ACAD
Gary – Unfortunately, I managed to accidentally delete your message. I
felt bad because no one else would have been able to take advantage of your
response. I'm glad you posted it again.
I haven't been able to try your solution yet (setting SPLFRAME on), but
it sounds like it ougth to work and allow me to get rid of the 3DFACES that
have invisible edges.
However, I was looking through the ACADr11 Ref Manual and found a short
discussion about PFACE entitities (The ones I assume are generated by 3DS)
and how it works with the object snapping. On page 124 it states "All
object snap modes that apply to Line entities (such as Nearest, Endpoint,
Midpoint, Intersection, Perpendicular, and Tangent) work with the visible
edges of polyface meshes." This does not seem to be the case with the DXF
file I imported from 3DS. (It was DXFIN'd into an existing drawing.)
Are you guys doing something different or are my models in the twilight
zone? (du di du do, du di do du, … 🙂
