I don't think writing your own FLI player is called for at this point! However, I can't think of a way around the palette manipulations (to avoid the flash) unless you can modify the animations, which means having AAPro! You could structure your animations so a fade to black transition would appear a normal part of the flic, if you have to do this 2 part thing again. This could help control the flash. Check out the players here (Windows-based AAWIN, as well as AAPLHI), as well as FLILIB and FLCSPC for info on the FLIC formats. AAPLHI/AAWIN would allow you to run FLIC 1 and FLIC 2 sequentially, so as to appear as one flic. Good luck Nik
