Evan, At home I have two PCs as follows: 486 with CDROM drive 286 with Modem and PC Anywhere IV I boot the 486 first with all the necessary CDROM drivers and then start LapLink Pro. The 286 I boot with PC Anywhere in Exit, allow incoming calls mode, so that I'm left at the DOS prompt. I can then dial into the 286 and start LapLink Pro. This gets me access to the 486 and the CDROM drive. The only problem I've had is in trying to do file transfers ie use LapLink to transfer file from CDROM to 286 hard disc, then file transfer from 286 to the machine I'm calling from. I think it's something to do with the read-only attribute as if I decompress a file and then recompress everything using a different filename, the file transfer works! BTW I've always stopped the LapLink process on the 286 before attempting file transfers<g> Adrian
