Hello: I need help. Working with some folks in the winnew forum to solve a memory management problem I was having, I lost my CD-ROM drive. I was getting a fault when I tried to search the GBC great books disk. I was told that one solution was to load DOS high. I got help doing this from the winnew forum. They had me make changes to my config.sys and autoexec.bat files. We were successful, in that we were able to provide more usable memory. Unfortunately we lost the function of the CD-ROM drive in the process. The two guys I was working with do not have CD-ROM and, after a time, were out of ideas. That is why I am here. I need someone to look at my a.b and c.s files and tell me why my computer does not show the S drive. First let me say that this is a 386 with 8mg of RAM. I am running DOS 5.0, WINDOWS and WP5.2 FOR WINDOWS which includes Grammatik. I have an internal sony CD-ROM drive. At present the light goes on on the CD-ROM drive on boot- up but the computer does no show that it has such a drive, once it is running. I have tried to reload the CD-ROM software but when I do it makes strange changes and the drive still wont run.
