Anthony, The symptoms you describe could be caused by a number of things. I did the same mod on my Rev 5 A500, and never had a problem. You could have anything from: 1. Bad Agnus 2. Poorly seated Agnus 3. Wrong trace cut 4. Right trace cut incompletely 5. Jumper soldered incorrectly. The best thing to do would be to buy or borrow a multimeter and check the continuity of the trace cut and jumper. Verify that the Agnus is seated properly and fully. Did you bend any pins? Unfortunately, only a person actually looking at the board can tell what's wrong at this point. You'll need to do some verification that the mod was done correctly.
