Gracia, Some time ago when I worked for a place the printed over 300,000 bulk rate letters (printed on a big noisy printer) and some 100,000 first-class letters (printed on a laser printer), I learned the importance of 'fanning' the paper. 1. Hold the stack of paper by an end and slowly fan out the opposite end, making sure that nearly every page is separated from its neighbors. This allows air to get in between pages which acts as a lubricant while the printer tries to grab some paper. 2. Reverse the stack of paper and do the same thing to the other end. 3. When putting paper into tray, put the most recently fanned end in first. 4. Don't overfeed tray, too much paper will weigh things down and by the time you get to the bottom of the tray, the air will have been pushed out again. Even though our trays at that company could hold 250 sheets, we fed it 50 sheets at a time.
