I can't remember whether you posted your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files.
I used to have my CDROM drive on the same PC as the modem and never had any
problems accessing it. Maybe I've still got copies of my old AUTOEXEC and
CONFIG files somewhere.
