I don't romanticize about Native Americans; they could be as brutal to other
tribes as any other tribes on earth. However, I do feel compassion for them. If
I recall my history, every civilization on earth has been invaded or has
invaded someone else. Ok, so they ruined some of the environment and made a few
animals go extinct, but nothing on the scale of what's happening right now.
Anyway, would you want a wooly mammoth trouncing through your back yard? I
think I get your point, that the Native Americans are like everybody else. They
have an interesting cultural hertitage just like everybody else. And they have
had an environmental impact just like everyone else. So who's putting them on a
pedestal?
