Behind all these questions lurks a great market opportunity: To create software tools that allow publishing CDs for multiple systems (that is: Mac, DOS, MPC, Windows, CDI, CDTV, Atari, Sony Electronic Book). Most of these could probably be run from the same CD, others would need CDs that could be created automatically. Somehow, nobody has grabbed this opportunity in the last 8 years to a large extend. There are some retrieval systems out that do PC and Mac and maybe UNIX (I designed one such system), but they don't handle user interface issues and Multimedia materials. Now I heard of Macromind Director Player for windows, which could be the first Multimedia CD-ROM platform for Mac and PC. Any experience out there ? The nice thing is that one can develop on the Mac and port to PC without even touching that machine.
