Mike I learned (or re-learned) something the other day when I was setting up a printer for a co-worker. I hooked the printer up to her A-2000 while it was running, and the computer couldn't find the printer to output. So I rebooted the A2000 with the printer connected and everything worked as it is supposed to. Well, just now, this A3000 would not answer the CS carrier. I tried different terminal software and the computer still would not answer the CS carrier. So I thought, mebbe the A3000 is booting so fast the modem isn't fully powered when it comes up, and it isn't recognizing the serial port connection. So I turned the CPU off and back on and shazam- it worked. I'll have to test that theory a few more times before I convince myself that's the case. My souped up A2000 at home is real slow booting, but this A3000 snaps yer neck when it comes up. Could be a clue?? gn
