I believe it will be impossible for anyone to have a product that can
compete with the Toaster anytiome within 15 months. Knowing the guys at
newtek, they will have something even better by then. Competing at both
price and quality levels is very difficult, and mostcompanies will look at
the situation and the market lead and try to develop products that work
with the Toaster. The video signals coming from even Targa's are not really
up to FCC spec, and things like quicktime and Matrox are not even close,
although they are actually acheiving different things (the reverse of the
toaster, creating RGB displays from video, rather than processing a video
signal with RGB computer tools.)
