Timothy, Kevin is right, you don't need a frame buffer to create targa images if you want to take them to someone to transfer to tape, but what you do need is gobs of hard disk space. .TGA files can often run a meg and a half or more for each image (depends on the resolution, colors, etc) and at 30 frames a second for video your talking about a lot of storage space! Assuming an image of 1 meg for each file, a thirty second animation will require 1 meg X 30 frames per second X 30 seconds…or 900 megs of disk space! Don't despair though, a rewritable optical drive with a 1 gigabyte capacity is not too expensive.. at least comparatively speaking.
