There is no way to send the CD audion out over the computer bus…nor would you
really want to. The CD player simply controls the the CD drive. When an audio
CD is played from the player, the audio is either sent to the headphone jack
(if headphones are plugged in) or to the audio out connector on the CD drive.
the reason you can't hear anything on the speakers is because there is nothing
connecting the audio out of the CD player to the CD audio in of the sound
board (and thus the sound boards audio out)
