Yes I did get the drivers from NEC about a week after I called. I can send
them to you if you want — they didn't solve my problem which is apparently
hardware related. My CDR-36 drive makes coffee grinder sounds when it tries to
access any track on an audio CD other than track 0. I went out today and
bought an Apple CD 300.
I don't know why they are being so uncooperative with you. The first line in
the letter enclosed with the diskette is:
[Dear NEC Customer,
Enclosed is your copy of the new Macintosh 3.06 CD-Rom driver as requested.]
