#Zeos/Adaptec 6260???
I'm thinking about getting a new Zeos PC clone. One option that this computer
has is a SCSI port that is supposedly an Adaptec 6260 card. I don't know much
about SCSI, but the sales guy (not particularly reliable) told me that it was
16 bit and SCSI-2 compatible. While Zeos makes great equipment, their sales
staff is not known for their knowledge or truthfulness, so I thought I'd ask
here: Does anyone have any experience using the Zeos optional SCSI port with a
CD-ROM drive? Are there any known problems with that card (assuming that it is
an Adaptec 6260)? Is the Adaptec 6260 16 bit and SCSI-2 compatible? Should I
pay the $49 that Zeos wants for this feature or spend it on some other SCSI
card? I don't yet have a CD-ROM drive yet but plan to get either a Toshiba or
Texel drive in the next week or so.
