I think the chips are pin compatible, but they aren't cheap (which is the whole
point, isn't it) – as for virtual memory, I can think of 3 different virtual
memory programs for the Amiga, one of them a commercial release.
Also, no MMU means no kick-ram which slows the machine down further.
