Tramiel tendered his resignation at CBU board of directors meeting in NY on Friday Janauary 13, 1984, just days after announcing at a press conference (winter CES show) that Commodore, in 1983, became the first personal computer manufacturer to exceed one billion in annual sales, shipping over 3 million computers.
