Katherine Firstly thanks for replying to my plea for help about the CDD 521 DTR issue. I had only just got the system and was trying to read files from a CD and found that the transfer rate was about 80KB/S! Since then I have been able to record the 380 MB of data on to a CD in under 30 minutes so I am satisfied that the write DTR is very much as specified (about 300 KB/S).However the read DTR is only still only about 80KB/S. I have tried adjusting the syncronous transfer rate as you were suggesting, at settings above 5.7MB/S my system hangs. I have also tried adjusting the bus off and bus on times with no success. I am beginning to think that the problem lies with the CDD 521 driver supplied by the CD authoring software I purchased with the system, namely WinOnCD – (Have you heard of WinOnCD ?) As I got the system mainly to record CDs and I am able to do that without any problem there is no urgency in solving the read DTR problem but it does niggle me. So if you have any other ideas I would love to hear them. Cheers Hugh
