Well, Ed, you remember the Chalker Theory of Westward Migration, don't you? That our ancestors were the scum, crooks, losers, and nuts of the Old World who came here and settled the East becoming the new Establishment, forcing the next wave of scum, crooks, losers, and nuts further west, and so on, and so on, until, of course, the waves reached the Pacific where, unable to go any further, they have been stacking up for the last century…. Of course, that doesn't explain Texas, does it?
