#Toaster 3.1 Bug ?
I recently upgraded from Toaster 2.0 to 3.1 software on my A2000, and
suddenly I'm having a problem with Lightwave. After rendering a random
number of frames (5-10 if I'm using antialiasing, more if it's off), the
computer locks up with the Amiga "Software failure" message. Newtek claims
it's a memory problem (either bad RAM or insufficient chip), so I bought a
MegaChip 2000 and tested all my ram with manufacturer's memory test
programs (it's all good), and still I get the errors. I also reloaded the
software (to no avail). After wasting a week's vacation time chasing this,
I'm thinking it's got to be a Lightwave bug, since I never had problems
with 2.0. BTW, I'm using a Progressive Peripherals '040, and an IVS Grand
Slam. Anybody have any ideas ? Thanks.
