Howdy,
I have an A2000 with a GVP Series 2 scsi 030 board. Currently using
AmigaDOS v2.1.
Internally, there is a Fujitsu M2624SA 520meg scsi hard drive at ID 0.
Externally there is a GVP/Ricoh 600 meg Magneto-Optical scsi removable at
ID 1. These two drives work well.
On the Bridgeboard side (286 > ATOP 386 20mhz), there is a Adaptec 1542B
scsi controller. The A: drive (5.25) and the B: drive (3.5) are connected
to the Adaptec card. The C: drive is a Maxtor XT-8760S 760 meg scsi drive
at ID 0.
An old plan which I could never follow thru, was to move the Ricoh scsi
cable from the Amiga side & connect it to the PC side. Seemed like a good
plan at the time. However I could not make it happen.
Last week I decided to give it another try, getting into serious 'mucking
about' mode.
Several hours later, I got the Ricoh working on the 'other side'. The
weird results are…
C: drive = Ricoh = ID 2
D: drive = Maxtor = ID 1
A: drive = need to boot from floppy since C: is empty
There is no way to keep the Maxtor as C: with ID 0 and having the Ricoh
connected as well at ID 1.

While I was using the Ricoh cartridges on the Amiga side, they were
formatted with fastprep. Data was stored on the RDB. Is it possible for
the Adaptec card to be sensing something from the RDB and affecting how it
is installing the 2 scsi drives?
Does a PC format/fdisk, overwriten the RDB?
Should a lower boot priority have been used while using fastprep?
Should the disks have been unpreped first on the Amiga side?

So currently I have 3 MO sides (900 megs~) formatted and ready to use on
the PC side.
Windows v3.1 does not like operating out of drive D:. Had to answer to a
few requesters the first time I tried to start it. All system configs were
based on the C: drive path. I believe that havoc will rain the next time I
try to run Windows 🙂
Any insight would be appreciated…
