My main criteria for a movie is that it has a lot of things blowing up, and none of that touchy-feely "lets get in touch with our feelings stuff". That is why I like the old star trek, but not ST:TNG or DS9. In the old Star Trek, Kirk/McCoy/Spock/Scotty would scarf on an Alien babe, set phasers on maximum, and every once in a while obliterate some blood sucking alien. Meanwhile, in the new, mamby-pamby star treks, every one gets in touch with each other's feelings in one giant encounter group session, with Picard/Riker getting in touch with their feminine sides. The only thing good about the ship's counselor in ST:TNG is that every once in a while she shows up in a low-cut dress. Even the Klingons are a bunch of wusses. In a fight there is no question Kirk would kick Picard's tail all over creation, and all the while Picard would be saying, "I understand your pain James." What a bunch of wimps. John
