If the client is happy with paintbox commercials, they wouldn't hire a
3D Animator anyway, would they? It seems that we have to sell the
extra cost of 3D stuff as 'stun-value' for highter cost. I'm sure
that most cable advertisers are too small time to really do business
with. However, any major ad firm might be worth approaching – I've
picked up a lot of work subcontracting for the creative group that
does industrial videos for Trucking companies. And if they're doing
big, broadcast stuff, all the better! That's often where one might
find the cable ad person who aspires to better ads. And I don't do
scripts, live shoots, actors and stuff like that, so I'd have to work
alongside those people anyway in a big production.
