Thanks for the info. I average about 2-3 minutes to download about 100 forum messages but that's not what I was concerned about. It appears that for the past month I have been experiencing sluggishness in logons and switching to other forums. Once in a forum the speed seems normal. I don't see how this could be improved here. I think it must be local traffic related because as an experiment I logged on in the wee hours of the morning and the forum was at normal speed again. I might have to check out some of those other packages though because a 2 -1 speed increase for downloads is very significant.
